The choices of motorcycle jackets available today are varied and plentiful. Styles are as unique as their designers, and modern synthetic materials give the biker an added option over the standard leather jacket, a tried and true material for protection against the elements and the road
When making a decision on the purchase of a new motorcycle jacket, there are basically three areas of consideration that come into play, with various degrees of magnitude:
- the style of jacket preferred by the individual consumer
- the comfort and durability of the style and material used
- protection against the elements of wind, water, and temperature, as well as against the road
By today’s standards, most of the major motorcycle apparel manufacturers have come to agree on a common set of characteristics that tend to the specific needs of bikers as learned over the years. Many of these needs vary with personal taste, and will vary with the type of riding being done, and the individual priorities of the discerning consumer.
To begin with, lets discuss the different styles of motorcycle jackets that have made the biker culture into a sub category of the fashion industry.
For Motorcycle Jackets, Style Counts
While it may seem frivolous compared to the dire consequences of safety and protection, motorcycle fashion has evolved into distinct styles that offer the consumer choices based on just what kind of riding is being done, how often, and in what kind of weather.
As is its nature, the fashion industry has come up with just the right piece of clothing, tailored to fit your kind of riding, and making sure you are looking good doing it! Lets look at some of the general styles available.
The Traditional Classic Motorcycle Jacket
The traditional motorcycle jacket first came on the scene in 1928 in the form of the double sided Perfecto, manufactured by Schott NYC. Through the years the Perfecto style has been improved upon in many ways, but the basic traditional style remains a constant.
The traditional motorcycle jacket has enjoyed wild bouts of popularity in the fashion world. In 1958 Marlon Brando debuted the style in the film The Wild Ones, and subsequent appearances in films by James Dean and others have brought the jacket in and out of style throughout its history. Perhaps because of the kind of films it was portrayed in, the traditional motorcycle jacket has taken on a somewhat bad boy image, a rebel type personality, or even a criminal element, consequently gaining or loosing cool points, depending on your side of the fence.
While fads and fashion trends go in and out of style, for the biker community, the classic motorcycle jackets popularity is based not on its cool good looks, but on its practicality
Traditional style motorcycle jackets have become classic mainly because the material they are made of, leather, is and remains one of the best form of protection from the elements. More importantly, it provides a second layer of skin between the biker and the rough surface of an asphalt road, reducing the likelihood of painful skin grafts in the event of an unfortunate skid across the road.
Of course, leather jackets can be made into many different styles, but what makes the classic motorcycle jacket unique for bikers is that it tends to the bikers needs. Plenty of storage is provided for with cargo pockets, inside pockets, and the generous use of zippers and snaps in the form of pockets, air vents, sleeve cuffs, and snap downs.
The modern motorcycle jacket is designed with an eye on the various positions a biker might find himself in. Slightly longer arm length provides for a more comfortable ride when leaning forward, and the backs of the jackets provide for some extra length so they dont ride up in the same position.
The option of side laces makes for a snugger, warmer fit in the cold months, and the better traditional motorcycle jackets will have an insulated zip out lining, making it a jacket for all seasons.
One particular aspect of most traditional motorcycle jackets that pretty much defines the look, is the inclusion of a belt. Classic motorcycle jackets that include a belt opt for a half belt more often than not, with a large buckle in the front. Full removable belts complete with belt loops are available on some jackets. Practically speaking, a belt is good for tightening up the jacket, and to keep it from flapping around at high speeds.
Throughout the years, the traditional style motorcycle jacket has catered best to the needs of the biking community by providing a tough and durable jacket that conforms to the unique positions only a biker would find themselves in. With the use of heavy duty hardware, this classic style provides for plenty of places to put things (to counter the lack of such on the motorcycle itself), and includes multiple options for your comfort and protection year round.

One of the biggest reasons for debt in the US is the huge cost of medical bills. It figures then that many people in the US are also without any health coverage.
Most people can get health insurance through their employers, but if you are self-employed or work at a company that offers no health plan, then it becomes quite tough to find affordable insurance.
I used to be self-employed myself several years ago, and so I know how expensive health insurance is to get on your own. Even the simplest of coverage costs thousands of dollars each year. Frankly I had to eventually give it up, because with the little income I was taking in, I just couldn’t afford it. Believe me, that’s a scary feeling not being insured.
Now that I am employed, I am insured through work. Even there isn’t all that cheap, and the rates keep going up. Plus my co-payment went from $10 to $20 this year, a 100% increase. But still I’m glad to have the insurance; it’s still cheaper than getting it on my own.
But if you aren’t lucky enough to get insured through your employer, then you need to look elsewhere. But there are ways to find some affordable health insurance, and the best way I think is through the internet.
A couple of sites to check are www.healthinsurancesavings.com or www.self-employed-health-care.com. They both require you to enter a zip code, so they can show you the best choices in your location.
There are other similar sites you can browse through to find information. But be aware that you may have to divulge personal data about yourself to these sites. Some people aren’t comfortable with doing that, especially over the internet.
If you aren’t comfortable giving such personal information away, you can call the contacts at these sites and speak directly with them, and perhaps you can set up interviews with various providers. All this may sound like a burden and imposition, but you have to do what you have to do if you want affordable health insurance for you and your family.
Being insured, especially if you have a family, is very important in today’s world. So please take it upon yourself to do some research, and find the best health insurance you can afford.

Star tattoos are excellent choices for getting inked. There are various options you have for star tattoos. Here are 3 excellent star tattoo ideas.
1. Nautical star.
The nautical star tattoo has a rich tattoo history. Starting with navy men who got this design inked as a symbol for strength, guidance and finding ones way home from safely from battle, the nautical star has continued to be popular throughout the years. Punks, military, mixed martial arts fighters and many other groups have chosen the nautical star as their favorite choice of ink.
2. Modern star.
There are many modern star tattoo ideas that you definitely want to look into if you are looking at star designs. Some of these can really pop out, while other modern designs are great for background or accompanying other designs. While the nautical star is more classic, the modern star is more of a current style with many variations. Online tattoo galleries will have excellent examples of modern star designs.
3. Multiple stars.
Star tattoo ideas do not have to be limited to just one star. Matter of fact many feel that getting multiple stars is the way to go. There are very few tattoos that you can get away with having duplicated within the same tattoo space as you can with stars. Multiple stars can stand on their own, or they can accompany a different image. Some people make sure to leave space for additional star tats to be added in the future. Sometimes each star will represent a person, a situation, or a life changing experience in a persons life.
Want to see the best modern and classic Star Tattoo’s? Definitely check out this online gallery – http://top-tattoo-designs.blogspot.com/

Is your husband retiring? If he is, you are probably noticing that his company may only be concerned with how his life will be affected by this milestone event. I’ve had clients tell me that their husbands’ companies set him up with retirement coaches, therapists, financial planners, and even fitness/nutrition experts, but no one offered guidance or support for what was about to happen to her.
I’ve also heard more than once from a high achieving spouse that the year after her husband retired was the most stressful year of their marriage, and that they barely made it through without divorcing. Consider how a high achieving career sets up this disaster:
1. He has worked 80 hours a week for years, or has spent so much time in the corporate jet flying all over the world, that his best – and often only- real friend is you.
2. His identity is completely attached to his career, and when that’s gone, he’ll start a Venture Capital group, or join one with other displaced retirees, but he’s out of the game now and has no compelling value in the marketplace. That value is what he’s been basing his self-worth on for years.
3. He may have been tired of working and he says he wants to play more golf, but he will struggle with how to replace the drive that was provided by his career. Once he’s no longer urgently needed, why get up in the morning?
You, on the other hand, might have complained about his absence in the earlier, busier years of your marriage. Now that the house is relatively empty and you’ve created your own life and schedule, this change may turn your world upside down. Consider the following:
1. Have you been thinking about or have you already started a new business venture or college degree now that the kids are gone? What happens to your own career when he wants to take off and see the world?
2. Are you used to setting your own schedule? Now that he’s home, he’ll want to be included more than before. If he has no idea what to do with himself, or has lost most of his social connections over the years, he may rely on you more than ever to help him fill his days.
3. Unless you’ve both been crystal clear about your “support” activities in your relationship, he may turn to you for fulfilling those administrative duties that a company admin once performed. Are you prepared to set boundaries – daily, if necessary – without conflict until the two of you figure this out?
Navigating this transition can be difficult, but it can be fatal if good communication skills and clear thinking aren’t incorporated into the mix. Here are some conversation starters for the two of you before the day comes:
1. Discuss how you both imagine you’ll be spending your time right after his retirement, and then again, a year from that day. Part of the difficulty of transitions is that these changes aren’t consciously thought through or even shared.
2. Be open and curious, not defensive. Look at the issue apart from the two of you. Discuss it collaboratively. “Hmmmm. This is a little scary, isn’t it? How are we going to work through this transition?”
3. Both of you should make direct requests of each other to support things you anticipate you’ll need, and continue to do so to keep the air clear. You may want to request that he takes over part of the duties you’ve been shouldering while he’s been working outside of the home. Whatever requests you have, make sure they are specific and measure. Otherwise, resentments will build from different viewpoints of what those requests look like.
4. If you’ve been spending money in ways he isn” aware of, or you’ve participated in activities that he’s never really paid attention to, now is the time to lay it all out on the table. Your privacy is about to change considerably – make it a proactive disclosure. It doesn’t have to be confrontational. You don’t have to agree to something you think is unreasonable. If you’re used to giving in when you have an argument, now is a great time to shift that behavior. Seek support if you need help in navigating that transition.
5. Remember that this can be a wonderful opportunity to develop a new phase of your relationship. Find ways to share interests that you’ve never had the time to share before. Use this declaration of retirement to retire from some of your own duties, too. Look carefully at your own life. Are there activities you could put aside and give yourself permission to relax a little?
Whatever the outcome, transitions are the result of choices made, either by you or by arbitrary circumstances. If you don’t consciously make those choices, the results won’t be nearly as enjoyable.

You might be surprised to learn that just about every human being has 100,000 strands of hair on their heads. However, because of differences in texture, some people appear to have less hair, and some people appear to have a whole lot more.
What is texture?
Texture is the circumference of each individual strand of hair. If you have fine hair then your hair has a small circumference and you appear to have less hair on your head. Conversely, if you have coarse hair then your hair has a larger circumference and this bulk makes you appear to have a lot more hair than someone with finer hair texture.
Ultimately, the texture of your hair is simply a matter of genetics; if your parents have coarse hair, you will also, if they have finer hair, you will too. However, thankfully the hair care industry has developed ways you can enhance and modify your hair’s natural texture to achieve the popular styling choices you desire.
Fine Textured Hair
Fine textured hair is generally straight and can appear limp because of residues from hair care products. It can easily be processed by perming and coloring. However, it is important to not over-process fine hair because it can be easily damaged.
There are many things you can do to enhance the texture of fine hair. Some of them are:
Use a Clarifying Shampoo – To reduce residues and oils you should use a clarifying shampoo on fine hair. This will strip off the residue left by shampoos, conditioners, and styling products. Kenra manufactures a shampoo called: Kenra Clarifying Shampoo. Kenra’s Clarifying Shampoo is ideal for removing mineral deposits and chemical build-up from hair styling products. However, while this shampoo cleanses your hair, it also adds shine and body.
Use Mousse While Wet – After you shampoo with a clarifying shampoo, adding mousse to your hair (when it is wet) can give it added texture. Start at the roots and massage the mousse into your hair and then let it air dry, or dry it with a hairdryer on low heat. Not everyone wants to use the same hold factor in a mousse. There is a very wide variety of mousses to choose from, however I have three different options to look at. First is the Alterna Life Volumizing Spray Mousse. This is an aerosol mousse that has a light to medium hold. The Alterna Life Mousse was manufactured with fine and thin hair in mind. The exclusive LIFE blend of extracts provides weightless thickening agents that define, maintain, and preserve volume all day long. This product also contains anti humectants that effectively repel humidity, leaving your hair with a smooth texture and a radiant shine.
If you need more of a hold, I would go with a medium hold mousse. An example of this is the Biosilk Silk Mousse. This is an alcohol free mousse that is rich, creamy, and infused with concentrated silk and botanical extracts which add volume and shine.
If you require a strong holding mousse, I would recommend the Brocato Volumizing Foam. This product is a strong holding mousse that creates visual texture and stunning shine. This mousse allows your hair style to be firm, yet still moveable. This is an exceptional volumizing foam with a powerful hold that is great for all hair types!
Color Your Fine Hair – Another good way to add texture to fine hair is to color it. Coloring your hair adds texture to it by enlarging the hair shaft.
Coarse Textured Hair
Coarse, textured hair is generally thicker and harder to process. Coarse hair resists perming, straightening, and coloring.
There are a few things you can do to work with the texture of coarse hair. Some of them are:
Add Moisture – Coarse hair needs added moisture to control frizz and curl. By using a good conditioner you can insure you course hair will lay flatter and be shinier. Some manufacturers offer leave in treatments, rinse-out treatments, or hydrating conditioners that will help to incorporate moisture back into your hair. Bonacure makes a rinse-out treatment entitled Bonacure Moisture Treatment. This is a great product for naturally dry, or naturally coarse hair. This product reconstructs the moisture in your hair shaft from the inside out, which balances the moisture in your hair.
Joico makes a leave-in detangler that you can use on a daily basis which is called Joico Daily Leave-in Detangler. This is a conditioning agent that helps to condition, detangle, and make hair easier to manage. This product will also help you restore the moisture balance in your hair.
People rave about Pureology products and what they do for their hair, and that is why I would recommend the Pureology Hydrating Conditioner. The hydrating conditioner works from the inside out to keep your hair color fresh and your hair detangled ,all with renewed body and amazing shine! Hair is left conditioned, color protected, and shiny!
Air Dry – One of the most important things you can do for coarse hair is to let it air dry. Wash it, condition it, and then let it dry on its own. By not handling your hair too much while it is drying, it will not frizz.
Whether you have fine hair, coarse hair, or something in between, you can work with it by learning about texture and which products to use and which to avoid. By using products that are beneficial for your hair texture, you can better amplify the hair that you were given.

Before you set out to start shopping for evening dresses, you should first know what color, length, style of dress you want. What is more important is that we determine if the dress that you want to buy is appropriate for the occasion and formality of the event of the evening.
The most popular choice is the little black dress which is a must have for every wardrobe. It can be worn for every event, occasion and season, dressed down or formal.
If you are looking for a cotton, light and airy, summer dress to make you look hot but not overdoing it at outdoor parties like a holiday vacation or an upcoming barbeque party, then you can go for a halter neck style or a maxi dress.
If you have a prom/ball or formal dinner to go to, and you have decided that you want an elegant and classy dress but is very unique also, then you have a long list of choices for you such as strapless, backless, long to knee length, corset, etc. And the trendy look of defined waistlines and displayed shoulders is very girly and flattering to almost all body shapes.
If you want something less formal, then you can just go with what dress is considered at the latest trend, which is forever changing all throughout the season.
As you have noticed, you have a lot of options available to you. Go check out what the red carpet celebrities are wearing to find an inspiration.

Individual style should be applauded. It takes guts, personality and confidence to pull off certain looks, and anyone who expresses their individual style with gusto should be proud. But there are a few fashion no-no’s that should really be avoided at all costs, because, let’s face it, they just don’t look good on anyone. Be a fashion do by following these fashion don’ts.
1. Socks And Sandals
Just don’t do it, it really doesn’t look good. I understand wanting to be comfortable, but if socks are truly necessary, put on a pair of cute tennies or slip ons. Better yet, find a pair of sandals that are comfortable enough to wear without socks. Oh, and don’t even think about wearing black socks up to your knees with shorts and any type of shoes. I won’t even get into my opinion on Crocs at this point, but let’s just say that unless you’re gardening, I wouldn’t recommend those either.
2. Your Underwear Peeking Out Of Your Pants
Ok, So Brittany Spears did it, and so did various other teen stars and it was cool for a while. Let me give you a hint: unless you actually look like Brittany Spears, you probably can’t pull it off. Even if you can pull it off, there’s a difference between letting your thong hang out on stage in front of thousands of fans an paparazzi, and showing it off at the grocery store or in line at the movie theater. Trust me, no one wants to see it, and people are probably making fun of you as soon as you’re out of earshot.
3. Wearing The Baggiest Clothes You Can Find
No matter what size you are, you are going to look better in clothes that actually fit you, rather than big, baggy clothes meant to hide your figure. Beauty is not size dependent, and most people will tell you that a person of any size who looks fashionable and put together always looks better than someone in baggy clothes that looks like they are wearing a tent. Find a style that works for your body type, and that you like and be proud of it. The more confident you are in your own body and style, the more people will be drawn to you and appreciate you for who you are and your individual style. Sit on a bench at the mall for a couple of hours watching people go by. Who looks great, and who looks like a slob? Find a role model and try to emulate them. If all else fails, watch a few dozen episodes of What Not To Wear, and see resistant fashion disasters morph into beautiful, put together people.
4. Over-accessorizing, or Not Accessorizing at All
Even the best outfit can benefit from a few well placed accessories. A great handbag, and nice necklace and some simple earrings can easily take an outfit from ok to fabulous. They don’t have to match, they just have to be in the same or a complimentary color family. But a word of warning: don’t overdo it. Great big dangly earrings, 4 necklaces, 3 inches of arm bangles and a huge, sparkly handbag is going just a bit overboard. Keep it simple, but interesting, and make sure that your accessories compliment your outfit, not overpower it.
5. Being Self Conscious About Your Style
Above all, find a style that you love (and of course that follows all of the above mentioned rules). Wear colors that make you happy, and styles that make you feel beautiful. The absolute worst thing you can do is wear clothes that make you feel uncomfortable, or that you don’t love. Clothes and accessories are meant to be fun, that’s why there are so many choices. Don’t buy something just because it’s on sale, all of those meaningless purchases could be traded for one fantastic piece that you adore, and will last a long time. Buy pieces that are classic, as well as a few trendier items that can be mixed and matched. You will never regret spending a little more on a great pair of black pants that will last for years, and you can update them every season with a new top or some jewelry.
Find your inner diva, and express your style for the world to admire by following these simple rules. A Little fashion knowledge can go a long way in allowing you to express yourself to the world in a positive, confident way.

In the 1960s, it was common for a woman to wear a dress everyday. Dresses were considered a formality, representing femininity and tradition. Over time, these garments became acceptable for both casual and formal events. A dress still emanates a sense of womanliness and can be found in any color, style and fit. They flatter any age or body type.
Casual dresses are a great addition to any wardrobe. These types of garments are usually made with inexpensive fabrics, such as cotton and polyester, and require the least care. Many casual dresses are washer and dryer safe, making them the perfect choice for traveling. They are ideal for informal events, such as birthday and anniversary parties, afternoon coffee dates, or dress-down days at work.
Formal dresses, on the other hand, often require special care. Normally designed using more expensive fabrics like satin, silk, or velvet, they need to be dry cleaned. This is usually not a problem, since formal dresses are worn so infrequently, sometimes only once. These types of dresses are suitable for proms, lavish charity functions, and award ceremonies.
Sometimes it is hard to choose the proper dress when lacking details of the event. For example, a first date can be tricky. This type of occasion is usually planned by one person, which leaves the other person guessing. In this situation, it is best to choose a dress that falls somewhere in between informal and formal. No one wants to be stuck in a greasy diner sporting a pricey original or spotted at a gala wearing a cotton sundress.
Weddings fall under a category all of their own. All brides are determined to find “the perfect dress”, often turning a blind eye to the time and money involved. There are so many styles and colors of wedding dresses that it is best to enlist the help of a wedding dress consultant. They are trained to narrow down the choices, recommend styles based on body type and size, and assist brides with staying on budget.
Another consideration for choosing the right dress is season. Dress styles change with the seasons; tank and short-sleeved dresses are better suited to late spring or summer, while long-sleeves provide warmth for fall and winter. Materials also correspond with the season, making light, breathable cotton a good choice for warmer months and heavier knits, such as wool, more appropriate for the colder months.
With any occasion, it’s a good idea to consider the appropriateness of some dresses. A low-cut garment should never be worn to a wedding and a dress with an extremely short skirt will not be well-received at Grandma’s birthday.

Most people have joined in the revolution of buying products online. Clothes, gifts and even food can be purchased online, yet there can be problems associated with purchasing some items on the internet. This is especially true if it is a new item such as a piece of clothing or a pair of shoes.
Perfumes online can prove problematic as well. While you can sniff the perfume of your choice at a department store, that cannot be done with an online purchase of a high price or discount perfume.
If you are buying your standard, tried and true perfume and cologne choices from an online store, then that is fine. But if you are buying new, untried women fragrances, then that is a bit risky. Buying perfumes online does not give you the luxury of testing out a new fragrance before you make that purchase. Sure a friend may wear the stuff all the time, but unless you give it a try you will not know how it will react on you.
So if you are buying a new perfume online, then this can be a risky. You have no real idea what it will smell like. The answer is to go to your local department store that features a perfume and cologne counter, and spray or dab a fragrance on your skin. Here is the trick: you are only going to be able to do this one at a time.
Most people make the mistake of smelling the cards and going from there. You need to actually spray your wrist and walk away for a bit. Let it have a chance to do its work. Do not make the mistake of going back and trying on a different scent that same day. Wear the one for the rest of the day.
Okay, so you have worn the perfume and you love the way it smells on you. However, if you have worn the fragrance and it does not seem to be sitting well, or seems to have a cloying feel about it, then go back and try a different scent until you find one you do like.
Then go ahead and buy your perfumes online. You may even want to try some designer fragrances. It is a great way to save a ton of money and will minimize the risk of having fifteen bottles of unused perfume sitting on a shelf.

Have you been in a fashion rut lately? Don’t feel like spending hundreds of dollars for a new wardrobe? Trust me, I know exactly how you feel.
The easiest (and most cost-effective) way of injecting some fresh style into your existing wardrobe is through some funky and colorful fashion accessories. But to make your dollar stretch even farther, choose accessories that are timeless and will carry you through season after season.
Here’s a few tips that will help you to narrow down the limitless choices available to you…
If your wardrobe consists mostly of prints:
Find a bag that has a bright, solid color such as orange, red, or turquoise blue. Yellow accessories are currently all the rage as evidenced by reading any fashion mag lately. These bright colors will definitely liven up your outfit.
Try not to mix prints with prints. It doesn’t produce the most “pulled-together” look, as it can tend to look like you dressed yourself in the dark. Unless, of course, that’s the look you were going for. Then I say, “knock yourself out, girl!”
Stick with colors that have staying power and you won’t regret spending your hard-earned money. And if you’re a little shy about wearing bright colors, you can never go wrong with trusty old black or white!
If your wardrobe consists mostly of solid colors:
This is where boredom ends and the fun begins! You will get the most mileage out of your wardrobe if you stick with timeless pieces such as a crisp, white shirt, khaki trousers, and tailored blazers.
Buy pieces that you can mix around with other pieces to create new outfits. And always make sure that the fit is perfect for your body. If something needs to be tailored, keep that in mind before you buy the piece.
Then, inject something unexpected into your ensemble with a colorful, funky-patterned bag. But try to keep the lines clean, which will make the bag timeless. There’s nothing worse than dropping tons of money for a trendy bag that will “be out” in about a month.
Your choices are virtually limitless, so make sure you buy something you love and will get a lot of use of, but most importantly, something you can afford. It doesn’t make much sense to buy the newest and trendiest (read: most expensive) bag if you can’t make this month’s rent!
Some other useful tips to follow:
Try not to buy bags that:
1. Have too much bling on them. They’ll be out of style in no time, not to mention your back and shoulders are gonna hurt from the extra weight;
2. Too many exterior pockets. The bag just looks sloppy and overdone, and can begin to look juvenile;
3. Any bags that have logos plastered all over them. You’re basically providing free advertising for that company. Aw, isn’t that nice of you!
If you stick to these tips, the focus will be on your entire outfit, and not just your bag. You spent precious time putting together your fabulous look, and you should be noticed for it!
Either way you go, just remember that fashion is supposed to be fun and not taken too seriously. But, if there’s way too much fun involved in your outfit, you’re probably going to look more like a circus clown instead of the fabulous Lil’ Diva you really are!
